The writer of Hebrews is saying something new for a predominantly Jewish audience. The idea of God becoming a man, and moving into the neighborhood, even saying he’s our brother is about relating. We don’t worship and follow a cold and removed deity. We serve a living God who took on ﬂesh and understands our every need. How can Brother Jesus help us in our temptations? How does knowing Jesus is the Founder/Pioneer of our faith comfort us day to day?
